Al Gore has told the U.N. climate conference that new data suggests that the Arctic polar ice cap may disappear in the summertime as soon as five to seven years from now.
Gore said polar scientists told him Sunday that the latest data "suggest a 75 percent chance the entire polar ice cap will melt in summer within the next five to seven years."
Les propos, complètement délirants, ont été minorés par son équipe :
Marc Morano, qui dirige l'excellent ClimateDepot.com (168 000 visiteurs uniques en novembre 2009), décrypte le discours de Gore :Mr Gore’s office later admitted that the 75 per cent figure was one used by Dr Maslowksi as a “ballpark figure” several years ago in a conversation with Mr Gore.
"This is just following along those lines. Al Gore knows that the Arctic ice has now gained the size of one and a half Texases in the last two years - since the summer of 2007 when it was at its low point - and he knows that's no longer alarming to people, so he's got to ramp up the fear factor," Morano notes. "And the best way to do it is through virtual data - just come up with a scary prediction years down the road and use it as though it's some kind of evidence of a catastrophe."
